Work from the French Government, not public domain yet. Patrick Rogel (talk) 22:15, 13 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It's a work published in the US between 1924 and 1977 without a copyright notice - so it falls under {{PD-US-no notice}}, doesn't it? Furius (talk) 00:29, 14 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've found no evidence that the copyright for this document/photo was renewed. It fits the parameters for PD US. -Indy beetle (talk) 03:29, 14 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
US copyright law is not the only relevant factor. For works originating outside the US, they need to be PD or free licensed in country of origin. -- Infrogmation of New Orleans (talk) 04:04, 14 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There is no evidence this work was published in France. The source document was published in the US. -Indy beetle (talk) 03:27, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Indy beetle: The French embassy in U.S. is no U.S. territory. --Patrick Rogel (talk) 07:19, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The French Embassy is in Washington D.C., however, not New York, which is where this was published (though the embassy was the apparent "publisher"). -Indy beetle (talk) 05:18, 30 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: no valid reason for deletion - For copyright purposes, works published by foreign embassies in country (A) are works first published in country (A), not the home country of the embassy. This is therefore a USA work, without the required notice. .     Jim . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 14:48, 24 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
